Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara, born February 28, 1948) is an American actor, singer, and children's book author. Through a long career that spans over six decades she has starred in musical theatre, television and film, performed in concert performances as a solo artist and released recordings. A highly acclaimed Broadway performer She has earned seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She received three. Grammy Awards have been won by four of the Broadway casting albums that she has appeared in.
Many consider Peters to be the best Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is well-known for performances on Broadway including Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
